“Grandchildren are God’s way of compensating us for growing old.” ~ Mary H. Waldrip
Usually by the Thanksgiving weekend I have my Christmas Tree up and decorated and all other Christmas decorations, Nativity Scene, pictures, etc., put in the proper places to create a holiday season atmosphere for my grandchildren. This year I was reminiscing about how when my children where little, we would put our Christmas Tree up and get it decorated the day after Thanksgiving. Then it just hit me, the absolute #1 way for a grandfather to decorate his Christmas Tree in just four easy steps. Step #1: Put tree up… Step #2: Put lights on tree…Step #3: Sit down and relax and forget about tree…Step #4: After everyone shows up for Thanksgiving, set out tree decorations and turn your grandchildren loose. Then whalla!!! Like Christmas elves helping Santa it’s all smiles and fun. All a grandfather has to do is stay out of the way and take a few pictures. I cannot believe it took me this long to figure this out!! Merry Christmas everyone!!
